What do you even remember?

If you wanna know what content you should be consuming and what you should be not be, take a look ate what do you remember.

Sit down for an hour or so with a notebook and try to remember all the contents that you may have consumed for the past 3 years. The books, reels, videos, news, everything. Once it's done, go through it, and you will notice so much less you even remember consuming, and even fewer are the ones that made a significant impact or were even useful to you. This made me question myself on what I was consuming and made it clearer what I should be. I remember clearly the book I read last Jan, but I forgot the tech-linked episode that I just watched yesterday.

Obviously this does not mean it's all a waste, there is a lot of value derived in the moment as well, like how I feel joy watching tech news, laughing at dumb memes, or reading a well written blog. And I will continue to read and enjoy this stuff forevermore. But it just put things into perspective for me that it's ok to surf Lemmy, Bubbles, or Lobster once in a while when you feel like it and mainly for joy rather than subscribing to them and religiously reading all the posts cause you feel that is productive and you are gaining a lot of knowledge.

It's as they call it, infotainment, not information, and when I want information, even I know I will look for it and dig in the book or the World Wide Web.
